CEO of Spotify, Daniel Ek’s chances of taking over Arsenal have received a boost as reports claim that Kroenke Sports and Entertainment (KSE) would consider selling the club if they receive an offer of £2billion.
According to the reports, Daniel Ek will have no problems in matching the asking price set by KSE after the billionaire revealed yesterday on Twitter that he and his consortium had an opening bid rejected by Josh Kroenke, though the Spotify owner stated that he remains interested in buying the club.
Daniel Ek first showed interest on buying the club via Twitter following the collapse of the European Super League, with supporters outraged by Stan Kroenke’s involvement with the breakaway league which has led to protests outside the Emirates Stadium on multiple occasions since the fallout.

Stan Kroenke has never been popular amongst Arsenal supporters, with the American businessman hardly investing in the club since taking over as sole owner of the club in 2018, yet recent comments from Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta seem to indicate that KSE will gift the Spanish manager funds this summer to invest in the squad with the Gunners likely to miss out on European football next season.
A lot of things are wrong with Arsenal at the moment. The squad is bloated, overpaid and in need of a desperate refresh, and matters off the field are just as bad, with major boardroom changes seemingly happening every few months and the roles and titles of big figures at the club are getting murkier and murkier.
Yet there is no denying that new ownership could be a huge step in the right direction for the Gunners, with the north London club yet to finish in a UEFA Champions League spot since Kroenke took full ownership of the team almost three years ago, and the revealing of the asking price could motivate Ek to make a second offer to Kroenke sooner rather than later ahead of the new season in August.
